The Futurist Cinema

The Futurist Community Cinema

2018 saw the return of community cinema to Elsecar.

November 15th saw the launch of the cinema in the Ironworks at Elsecar Heritage Centre. Guests donned 1980’s fancy dress to watch the 1985 cult classic ‘Back to the Future’, a film that was released in the same year the original Futurist cinema sadly closed its doors.

There were some great memories shared at the first event and people loved the community focus, polaroid photo booth and of course getting to see the DeLorean itself!

December 14th saw Milton Hall host the second community cinema event this time showing the timeless Christmas comedy Elf. Guests pulled on their worst Christmas jumpers to watch the film and meet real life elves Grumpy and Nice. Everyone had an Elf(tastic) time!

Brilliant event – thanks to all who organised it.

We all loved it – Thankyou.

Went to the futurist event at the Milton hall Elsecar, had a great evening, extremely well run event and look forward to more in the future, well done.

2019 will see The Futurist cinema brought to lots of venues across our Great Place, visit the ‘What’s Happening’ page for full cinema listings.
